Shoppers have requested much nicer stream setups. To understand how to make your setup look like a pro for better viewer engagement please read below.
We're so excited for you to go live!
Store, studio, pop-up shop, home, or anywhere.
We give sellers and brands the creative freedom to set any stage for their livestreams... as long as it's legal 😅 (our lawyers wanted us to put this in writing).
But with that, we'd like to share some tips on what we think good livestreams have in common:
Check your Internet speed
Make sure that the lighting is consistent and that the subject is easy to see
Try and do it in the most open space as possible (we understand this is not always the case)
Make your space fun! Cool spaces, backgrounds, and decorations can help make the stream more interesting and be used as conversation-starters for you and your viewers
Keep your battery charged. Make sure that you have a nearby plug to keep your equipment charged throughout the Live Room
We recommend having:
Phone Stand/Tripod
Long Phone Cable
Softbox Light
Soft source of light that minimizes harsh shadows
Background Light
They help to reduce the shadows behind the subject of the Live Room; you can use a neon light or a lamp shade.
Keylight
The purpose of the key light is to highlight the main subject of the video
Foundation Level: The Essentials
Professional Background: A clean, appealing background enhances credibility, fostering viewer trust and potentially boosting sales.
Lighting: Crucial for visibility and product presentation. Poor lighting, especially in low light conditions, can distort product appearance due to phone camera limitations.
Camera Setup: Utilize your phone's selfie camera for real-time interaction with viewers through comments. If available, use a laptop to monitor comments while streaming with your phone's rear camera for better video quality.
Intermediate Level: Enhanced Lighting
Ambient /Background Lighting: Introduce soft, ambient lighting to illuminate the products and background, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Focused Lighting: Employ softbox or ring lights for direct, flattering illumination. Note: Ring lights may cause reflections in the eyes, consider positioning to minimize this effect.
Camera Setup: Utilize your phone's rear camera for better video quality. It will be able to adapt better especially to different lighting (including low light)
Advanced Level: For Seasoned Sellers
Professional Grade Setup: Recommended for sellers streaming over 3 hours weekly, this level signifies high professionalism and reliability.
Lighting Expansion: Incorporate additional lighting fixtures to highlight yourself and the background vividly. An extension cord may be necessary to accommodate multiple light sources.
By adhering to these structured levels, you can significantly enhance your live stream shopping experience, from basic setups to professional-grade broadcasts.
